To minimize disruptions that can come with Alzheimer’s or dementia, we put a lot of thought into the details of our assisted living space with dementia care. Examples include glare-free lighting, shorter hallways, private rooms, activity stations, and discrete directional cues.

FANTASTIC CARE
After my mother (84) was incorrectly diagnosed with dementia and placed in a nursing home, her doctors eventually figured out the root cause (UTI) of her confusion and Mom began to physically improve. But she was not happy at the nursing home and still needed assistance before she could move back home. So we visited Ecumen Prairie Hill, and after an evaluation, they determined Mom qualified for their programs in memory care while she recovered. After a couple months she was evaluated again and moved into their assisted living for a year. Because of her determination, and the fantastic care she received, Mom was able to move back to her home and is now living independently again. My family is more than grateful and appreciative for everything the staff at Prairie Hill did to help her get back home. If the time comes that she needs more assistance, we’ll most definitely work with Ecumen again.
