FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

YOU BRING QUESTIONS, WE BRING UNDERSTANDING

Make the transition from a family home easier by knowing more about the variety of senior housing and services available on our campus. Better understanding can turn the uncertainty of moving into confidence for beginning the next chapter of life.

GENERAL TOPICS

Ecumen is a Shoreview-based company that owns and operates a broad spectrum of senior housing communities across Minnesota, with a spirit of all-encompassing care, empowering individuals to live richer, fuller lives.

We work hard to meet the special dietary needs of residents and can accommodate most requests.

Unlike some senior housing and service providers in the North Branch area, Ecumen North Branch offers living spaces and care services across the full spectrum of options needed by the individuals and families we serve. From out-patient to short-term in-patient care and periodic in-home services. And from honoring those with dementia to celebrating the life of a loved one in Hospice. With access to our continuum of care, you or a loved one can continue life’s journey right here on our campus.

Ecumen North Branch is a smoke-free community.

Yes, residents of our assisted living community are allowed to have a dog or cat as long as the pet meets weight restrictions and is fully vaccinated. Other areas of our campus allow visiting pets with family and visiting therapy pets with volunteers. For our visiting pet criteria or additional information, please speak to your Ecumen representative.

An unsigned, blank copy of our Admission Agreement is available by request.

When a loved one needs more continuous care than Home Care services can provide, our assisted living community is a great option for them (and their family) because of the peace of mind that comes with a safe environment, a customized care plan and regularly scheduled visits from an onsite expert care team.

SHORT-TERM TRANSITIONAL CARE

Yes, we call it short-term transitional care, where individuals recovering from a procedure, surgery or injury can stay in-patient at the Care Center in a private suite or choose out-patient therapy services. Either way provides access to state-of-the-art equipment and experts from a range of disciplines, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, social work, and nutrition.

Skilled Nursing is a common term that refers to services we call long-term care, available in our Care Center where residents who need around-the-clock care have a private room, a meal plan, 24/7 assistance, and expert care from an onsite team of compassionate caregivers. Whereas our short-term transitional care is a service for individuals who are recovering from a procedure, surgery or injury to rehab in-patient or out-patient with access to a variety of expert care providers and state-of-the-art equipment.

LONG-TERM CARE

Yes, they are both throwback names for senior housing and services for individuals who require around-the-clock assistance and care. In our Care Center, we call this a long-term care community where licensed nurses are available 24/7 and regularly attend to individuals who live in their own private suites.

This is a common name for what we call a long-term care community, which is more descriptive of the experience for individuals in our Care Center, as well as the expert care teams who engage with them throughout the day.
