MEET THE TEAM

VALUABLE EXPERIENCE AND INVALUABLE HEART

Our commitment to serving residents and their families starts at the top. With hands-on dementia care experience paired with genuine compassion, our leaders nurture a thriving Ecumen Evergreens of Moorhead community that includes team members who share a meaningful pursuit. Get to know the leaders behind our daily mission.

Amanda Dertinger, LALD

Executive Director

As Executive Director, Amanda is responsible for oversight of our community operations, providing support to the people we serve, their families, and team members. In her role, she is grateful for the opportunity to support individuals during a time in their lives that requires complex decisions and big transitions. The care and love that team members share with residents and their families inspires Amanda every day. Originally from Alexandria, MN, Amanda has lived and worked in Fargo, ND since 2008 before joining Ecumen in 2021. She was introduced to Ecumen by volunteering and was drawn to our organization’s values and commitment to serving the older community. In her words, “I wanted to make a difference and have a fulfilling career and knew that I would have that with Ecumen.”

Amanda’s favorite local place? Home.

Away from work, Amanda is devoted to family time with her husband, their son, and their two dogs, which often includes reading and definitely gardening in the warmer months.

Jesse Jacobson, RN CD

Clinical Director

As Clinical Director of our Ecumen Evergreens of Moorhead and Fargo communities, Jesse is responsible for ensuring quality of care for our residents by supporting the skilled nurses and resident assistants of our care team. In her role, she often guides family members in determining how our available services can best support a loved one’s personal care needs. Jesse especially enjoys learning about the backgrounds and life stories of residents, their family members, and the team members she leads every day. Originally from Lisbon, ND, Jesse joined the Ecumen team in 2023, because she liked the home-like atmosphere of our close-knit communities.

Jesse’s favorite local thing to do is taking her family to the Red River Market in Broadway Square downtown Fargo, ND, where they can see all the interesting produce and fun products while supporting local vendors.

Away from work, Jesse is focused on family time with her husband and their son and daughter, whether on a hike or hanging out at the lake.

Rebecca Kpor, CQC

Clinical Quality Coordinator

As Clinical Quality Coordinator serving the communities of Ecumen Evergreens of Moorhead and Fargo, Rebecca is responsible for collaborating with leadership and team members to identify improvement opportunities in the clinical setting, and to design, implement and evaluate quality improvement initiatives on an ongoing basis. Putting her attuned skills as an effective listener, educator and multi-tasker to work, Rebecca enjoys talking with team members and learning about their daily interactions with residents and families. In her words, “it brings me warmth to hear their stories and be an attentive resource for them.” Originally from Rochester, NY, Rebecca joined Ecumen in 2025 following experience in large senior living environments where it’s more difficult to get to know the residents. She was drawn to our communities because our smaller, intimate atmosphere makes her work with seniors more meaningful and personable.

Rebecca’s favorite local place is Tropical Spice Caribbean Cuisine. She says the Jamaican food amazing and hands down the best she’s ever had.

Away from work, Rebecca finds calm in keeping her home clean. She readily admits that perhaps she cleans more than the average person. Of course, she also enjoys hanging out with friends and chatting about their individual relationships with Christ. Cleaning, chatting, and Christ. All these bring her peace and help her balance the busyness of work.

Bonnie Johnson

Life Enrichment Specialist

As a Life Enrichment Specialist in our memory care community, Bonnie is tuned in to the moment to support the ebb and flow of resident interests and needs. She especially enjoys engaging with our residents and getting to know their individual personalities and life stories. In her role, she often speaks to our community’s family members to plan for upcoming birthdays, activities and chaperoned events. Originally from Pelican Rapids, MN, Bonnie joined Ecumen Evergreens of Moorhead in 1997, with over 14 years of experience in long-term care as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Although she briefly worked in a hospital as a CNA between senior living communities, she missed the daily interactions with a senior population and ultimately chose a position with Ecumen.

Bonnie’s favorite local thing to do is take in the beauty and abundance of area lakes.

Away from work, Bonnie’s time is reserved for family, family and more time with family.
